Portraits
The Portrait Series, Initiated Circa 1980s
While a portrait addresses the individual, a nude is more often used in a metaphorical context addressing the universal. Titus strives to create a convincing physical likeness in these life-size portraits and to capture the model’s personality, but the true subject of the work is the human condition in all its strengths and vulnerabilities.
